The NFL have outraged its fans after what they have done. Even though NFL players’ actions are protected by the First Amendment that does not mean that they did the right thing. They disrespected our flag and our anthem by kneeling down during the anthem and hiding inside their locker rooms.
The National Football League is one of the most profitable leagues in the United States. But after their protest things may change. The NFL receives tax money in order to build stadiums and renovate the fields. That is totally absurd and needs to stop. The federal government should end all support to the NFL while players continue to kneel in protest during the national anthem.
“I’ve been studying this for 15 years, and I still can not believe cities and states are lined up begging to give money to these very profitable [teams],” Professor Rick Eckstein, who is an expert on stadium finance told CNN .
In an interview with Breitbart, U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks noted that the government should cut off the funds planned for support the NFL.
“I believe we ought to terminate all federal government support of the NFL. That would include the termination of any and all advertising that is done on behalf of the federal government — military and non-military — to the extent we do any.”
“The same thing with any other professional sport that insults our country and our flag and our anthem as the NFL has done,” noted Brooks.
Rep. Matt Gaetz also urged Congress to end the tax-exempt status of the NFL’s business office. “We must close this loophole in the tax code, and end taxpayer subsidies for professional athletics,” Gaetz said in the release. “If players want to protest, they have that right — but they should do it on their own time, and on their own dime,” said Gaetz.
Do you think that the Federal Government should stop the NFL funding. Our money won’t be wasted on those organizations who protest our national values. Share this post on Facebook and Twitter along with your comments.
